The Masks We Wear

I spent years being who I thought I needed to be.

The version of me that was easy to love.

The one who made people comfortable.

The one who fit the room.

And for a while, it worked.

I mostly felt accepted. I mostly felt included.

But never quite belonging.

Because how can you belong somewhere if you are wearing a mask and not fully there?

Belonging isn’t earned by being who they want.

It’s found by being who you truly are.

And the truth? The people who want to fully see you, the ones who matter—they don’t need you to be smaller, quieter, or someone you aren’t.

They need you to be completely, unapologetically, uniquely you!

-Tammy McCann

So, who are you when you stop trying to fit in?
